About the Department
Livestock Production Management aims at increasing the production of animals and animal products through suitable farm management practices. With these objectives, the department of livestock production management has been started to impart teaching, research, and extension activities. Different livestock species and breeds are available at the livestock instructional farm. An adequate open area for demonstrating to the students, different practicals which include - animal handling and general management operations are available in the farm complex.
Facilities Available
Sufficient agricultural land is available for the livestock farm which provides adequate knowledge to the students regarding different agricultural activities in different seasons. Fodder crops are cultivated depending on the requirement of the farm and the nutritional values of crops. The laboratory is fully equipped with different types of equipment and instruments required for effective livestock management operations as per MSVE 2016 for UG teaching. Animal housing models, models of breeds, charts, photographs, and diagrams are available for a better understanding of the students.
